Wireless sensor devices can sense physical measurements such as temperature, humidity, vibrations, speed, acceleration, images etc. and provide valuable information for real-time monitoring systems. The improved processing capabilities and reliability of wireless communication systems enable the use of these sensor devices to create efficient monitoring systems which improve processes and their management functions.
Applications that require continuous monitoring belong to one or more broad categories such as Healthcare, Emergency, Security, Energy, ITC industries, Mining, Military and many more. From a networking point of view, sensor devices span from a small Personal Area Network to a large Metropolitan Area Network and the placement of the sensor nodes can be on a human body, objects, buildings or outdoor facilities.
This workshop aims to showcase the research and innovations among industries and academia communities and gives them a platform to share their knowledge in various areas of sensor applications. A discussion about the critical aspects such as reliability, battery lifetime, network design, efficiency and effectiveness of the system in saving energy is desired in order to highlight the key concepts which lead researchers in this field to move toward a greener world.
All papers accepted for workshops will be included in the ANT-2013 proceedings, which will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect , and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will also be indexed by Scopus and Engineering Village (Ei). This includes EI Compendex. All accepted papers will also be indexed in DBLP.
